Qantas and Jetstar will be taking off more often between Adelaide and Sydney as South Australia’s border reopens to the eastern state in time for the school holidays.
South Australian Premier Steven Marshall made the much-awaited captain’s call on Tuesday, with 14 days’ corona virus quarantine no longer required for New South Wales residents as of Thursday.
In response, Qantas has announced it will reintroduce daily direct flights between Sydney and Adelaide on Thursday, with fares starting at $213.
A Qantas spokesperson advises the announcement is a major boon for tourism operators in the two states.
The airline stopped direct flights between Sydney and Adelaide in July as the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
