KDMA Medical Conference

Date: March 30, 2015

In a country as diverse and complex as India, it is not surprising to find that people there reflect the rich glories of the past, the culture, traditions and values relative to geographic locations and the numerous distinctive manners, habits and food that will always remain truly Indian. All of these factors add up to the vibrant culture of India.

The annual conference for the Kuring-Gai District Medical Association (KDMA) was held in incredible India. With over 90 delegates in attendance, coordinating the logistics of flights, hotels, tours, processing of visas, and exclusive dinners in some once-in-a-lifetime locations, amongst all the chaos that is India, was the challenge Abc travel performed with the utmost professionalism.

Starting in New Delhi, KDMA stayed at the 5-star Shangri-La. The group travelled by cycle rickshaw through the streets of Old Delhi. Travelling by rail from Delhi to Agra, the group then visited one of the Seven Wonders of the World, The Taj Mahal. The Taj was built by Shah Jahan in the 15th Century as a symbol of love, in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died in childbirth. The group enjoyed their stay and conferencing requirements at the Oberoi Amarvillas Agra, where every room has a view of The Taj Mahal.

The delegates then travelled on to Jaipur, known as the Pink City of India. Upon arrival at the Taj Jai Mahal Palace Hotel, the group was met by a Grand Royal Procession of painted elephants, horse drawn carriages, trumpeters and drummers. Whilst in Jaipur, the group experienced a full-day visit to the Amber Fort. In addition to the conference sessions at the hotel, Abc travel arranged for the delegates to participate in games of Elephant Polo at the Amer Polo grounds. The delegates divided into teams and battled it out with their elephants for a fun afternoon of this interesting and exciting sports activity.

The highlight of the conference was an exclusive dinner at the Palace of the Maharajah of Jaipur, a venue which is not open to the public. Abc travel also arranged for his Royal Highness the Maharajah to join the group for their farewell dinner.

The group returned home with incredible memories of this mystical country which has so many interesting and beautiful aspects to explore. The trip was truly a wondrous success thanks to abc travel impeccable and unmistaken professionalism and organisation.
